Our Haida inspired clothing piece, made of 100% organic cotton, has been pre-shrunk during the double dye process. This dye process has non-bleeding certification ensuring the clothes will keep their original color. The Peruvian fabric, with its linen hempy clothe texture, is soft, supple, comfortable and highly breathable. This epic tribal men’ shirt has ¾ length sleeves with  an opening at the elbow in order to allow flexion and mobility. It also has many other cut-outs and stylish details. The decorative elements were embroidered using solid, resistant threads to ensure long life to these high quality shirts. This piece of clothing is an expression of our main theme this year: 4DIRECTIONS / 4ELEMENTS.

Haida-Gwaii Inspired | Black embroidered organic cotton men shirt | Medicine wheel reference: West direction – Water and Fire elements

The Haida-Gwaii Nation is a native culture originating from Canada’s west coast, northern USA and southern Alaska. It is known for its totems, traditional sculptures and its graphic art in general. We have taken inspiration of this culture’s traits and characteristic colors in order to create a re-invented “AYAM Haida design”.

Black, white, red and blue are the predominant colors of Haida art. Fire element is represented by using bright red on a black background, creating a strong contrast and a reminder of the powerful energy of fire. Water element is depicted by using the shape of a turtle, the central piece on the sleeve, as well as fishes, symmetrically positioned on each side of the turtle. Haida art clothing on a black shirt: a beautiful layout depicting power, strength and sensitivity!
